Yes, you can still make an appointment with Alternaleaf even without a Medicare card. If you don’t have a Medicare card, you will need to provide an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) number. The nurse will ask for this during your consultation.
An IHI is a unique number used to identify you for healthcare purposes, ensuring that your health information is correctly matched to you.
How to get an IHI:
Online: The quickest way is through your myGov account. If you don’t have one, you can easily create an account on the myGov website.
By Form: If you can’t apply online, you can use the "Request an Individual Healthcare Identifier" form. This method takes longer and requires you to provide acceptable identity documents.
Remember, you must be in Australia to apply so we can verify your identity.
